Applicants for membership in Civil Service Lodge must meet certain traditional requirements. A candidate should:
- Profess a belief in a Supreme Being.
- Acknowledge a moral distinction between virtue and vice.
- Believe that divine truth has been made known to humanity.
- Be a man.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be of good moral character.

Membership in Freemasonry is a serious and personal undertaking. It is best approached with sincerity, reflection, and a genuine desire for improvement.
